Storm at Riverside Il.

I didn't exspect when I painted STORM, I would be in the center of one the next day! Mother is fighting back. She even blocks and foods my trail to Riverside. The winds were over 60 mph and the rain came in rolling sheets. When you hear about in the news, remember this happen at rush hour. The trees have taken the brunt of the storm. The water is everywhere and temp in 90'sVerylittle loss of life. but the damage is widespread. The lightning ground strikes were in the hundreds about the area The radar shows more to come. This is a report from my bunker near the DesPlains River.

tHE STORM WAS SORT IN DURATION. FIRST THE HIGH WIND THEN SHEETS OF RAIN,FOLLOWEDBY WIND SHEAR. aFTER A SHORT REPREAVE RAIN AND LIGHTNING OF LESS FORCE. THIS STORM DID COOL US DOWN TO THE 70'S. tHE FALL OF NIGHT TOOK THE WIND OUT OF IT.TOMORROW AGAIN THE HEAT. THEY SAY IT WILL ENERGIZE MORE STORMS

The lightning is less now but the wind is holloing around my bunker Oh I spoke to soon here comes the lightning again.

Up early. Pad walks blocked with wires and trees short cut over swinging bridge bridge flooded bright side power still on water not inside. But trip to Chicago by train off tracks have debre sun is up and bright and hot, more storms in two hours. I must stay in bunker due to power lines down my cane is made of netel. I have food for a few vdays. McDonalds a few blocks up hill.
It is now the next day...
DesPlains River
The last time it flooded was 20 years ago. The dug a deep tunnel project many years ago to solve this problem, but the rain overwell it.
My trail before the swing bridge two days ago there is 9 foot of water there now, I walked 3 miles and inspected the three car bridges around this area. They will withstand the flood but hones in rhe Salt Creek are already pumping out their basements into the desplains Gaas and oil is seen in trhe flooded areas.and mixed with mud is flopoding basements due to poor storage. I talked to some sanbaging on 39 st. They said 20 years ago the national guard used this street for boats. I live on 39 Street!
Tonight they say no rain, all of it is goinging to Indianaor the East Coast.

Comments:
That's extraordinary. Hard to imagine that temperature and those conditions together. Rolling sheets of rain seems to be the new for rain to fall! Hope you're okay.

Just finished reading the Los Angeles Times. Sorry about the storm there. Hope things are Ok now. Here, we needed rain so badly but not a drop. Very ironic indeed.
