FOOTBALL

A football day!
Wh3n I went to high school I weighted 155 pounds and was 6 foot tall.
Everyone joined the football team it was a small school.
You were not a man if you sis not joint's I joined the squad.
I looked for the football gear, most of the good stuff went to the best players.
They laugh at me
The coach sent me out for a pass. Wham it hit me in the head and knocked me out.
He tried me at center position The team ran me over twice and knocked me out.
I quit the team that day!

Whoooo?

your smell is rare
it permeates the air
I hear your grace
It must reflect in your face
the light from you is bright
like the moon at night
where do you dwellIn,
heaven and hell?
Is it my magination
or are you my creation?

Two More

I HAVE FINISHED TWO MORE PAINTINGS!
The size is 24 x 36, acrylic on canvas.
This size is a little awkward for me.
Smaller sizes I can scan even in two parts.. Also It does not sit well on my easel. So I use a wooden ladder with clamps. I can only see about a foot with one eye. The rest of my vision is blurred. With a small size canvas I can see it all but with a larger canvas I never see the total painting. Of course color is a challenge..
There is a plus in this. When I see a shadow my mound makes up an homage and I paint these images. I once cols drive a car. So my imaaaaaaaaaaaaage bank is full of memories.
My abstract painting are full of the memories and the shapes and shadows I experience now. As you see in my painting. So are my emotion expressed in color and contrast.
I am a self taught artist expressing in paint what is around me

When I paint, life disturbs me
This is but a pause
It is needed
to give perspective
then it can be used.
Llike stepping back from your painting
IT allows you to see more
Then the quite time allows you to express self

thanku to my hero whose thoughts help me express self

I was asked today
Are you depresed?
I replied
No I just have great expectations!
I want to paint a masterpiece!

THE PICTURE OF THE MIND

Now is the time to suffer the tide of confusion.Change brings a haze to the mind. One must indure the croud to appereciate solitude. So this experence will fuel the spirit of insperation. This will get you out of the rut that now binds you.
mY SUBJECT OF MY NEW PAINTING HAS CHANGED THREE TIMES AS i HAVE APPLIE COLOR. you would not believe yhe confusion of this painters mind.

Art is a kind of drive that seizes a human being and makes him its slave.Yesterday,IStarted a new painting. It is a little larger then , I use. About 24x36. I thought I would get more subject matter in it. I now have less in the painting. It seems now I must paint more detail!

It is hard to grow and smell a flower

It is not impossible.

If I knew what the picture was going to be like I wouldn’t make it. It was almost like it was made already

”Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” -- Picasso.

Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind.

In response to the question
"How do you know when you're finished a painting?",
Pollock replied
"How do you know when you're finished making love?"

My New Year GoaL

my objective is to paint emotions of the human spirit - not just by its subject matter, but with its sensitive paint handling, its color, and its delicacy and depth of expression.

"Colour helps to express light, not the physical phenomenon, but the only light that really exists, that in the artist's brain."Henri Matisse, 1945.

"The more frightening the world becomes ... the more art becomes abstract."

As a viewer of abstract paintings, ask yourself the following questions:

Am I trying to figure out what it looks like or represents rather than allowing something to emerge from what I see in front of me?
What are the elements, colours, and textures of the painting?
How do these interact with each other?
What emotions do the painting evoke?
What is the title of the painting and how is this influencing what I see?
Have I allowed enough time to make a connection with painting?
