Matisse

"My choice of colors does not rest on any scientific theory; it is based on observation, on sensitivity, on felt experiences. ...I simply try to put down colors which render my sensation ...a moment comes when all the parts [of a painting's composition] have found their definite relationships, and from then on it would be impossible for me to add a stroke to my picture without having to repaint it entirely."
I am a littlw color vlind so my colors are selectected randomly...lloyd

A person you should know!

Ebb Tide http://forever-art.blogspot.com/
I love art since I was young. I was gifted in art, crafts, and decorating. I finished my Fine Arts degree in the Philippines. When I immigrated to the U.S.,I worked as paste-up artist for various publication companies. I continue to do oil painting mostly Southwest and tropical scenes. Art had been a part of my life as long as I remember. On the other hand, I like to write. Writing like art has a creative flow. When painting gets monotonous, I can write about my other interest like traveling.\

SandyCarlson has left a new comment on your post "A person you should know!": She is a lovely, lovely woman. You are a true friend to lift her up on your blog.

Yes both of you inspire me !! LLOYD

First Snow here

The weekend ended with some snow, freezing rain, and rain again. Before today, though, the sun shone softly and beautifully on the ice forming on the pond at the bottom of my road. It's a beautiful, peaceful time of year.Inwardly be free of all hopes and desires, but outwardly do what needs to be done. Without hopes in your heart, live as if you were full of hopes. Live with your heart now cool and now warm, just like everyone else. Inwardly give up the idea "I am the doer," yet outwardly engage in all activities. This is how to live in the world, completely free from the least trace of ego. (Maharamayana)
